Working Site Manager

Established in 2004, Our client is a leading UK contractor, specialising in the refurbishment and fit out of commercial properties in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors. They have recently relocated to new purpose-built offices near Guildford, Surrey.
About the role:
Due to an expanding client base of pub, bar, hotel, restaurant and nightclub clients, They have a fantastic opportunity are available to join one of their divisional project teams as a working site manager running projects on site from start to finish.
Responsibilities of the Working Site Manager:
•You will be able to work independently whilst on site and as part of this division’s project team, consisting a construction director and project QS.
•This role will involve travel, potentially to all parts of the UK, and you will need to be prepared to travel and stay away as required.
•You must understand the importance of deadlines and always having the drive and ability to achieve them.
•You must have a proven ability and pro-active aptitude for solving on site problems and developing solutions with designers, clients and other professionals in the project team, accepting such changes do not change the agreed completion date.
Requirements of the Working Site Manager:
•You will have a broad knowledge and ability in general construction/building works.
•You will be able to put hands to any element of building works as required. Ideally have a skill in a trade.
•You will ideally have experience in shop fitting, working in both closed and trading venues.
•You must have good communication skills, able to be effective with site staff, management, clients, designers and other members of the design team. You will be attending briefings and site meetings as required.
•You will be able to read and work from construction drawings, Schedule of Works and specifications.
•You will have a very good knowledge of Health & Safety and ensuring that the site is operating in compliance with the Health & Safety Plan prepared and approved prior to commencement on site.
•You will ideally live with local access to the M25 or a main road linking to it. The majority of our work is in the South East of England. As much as possible, we try to allocate projects based on geography to home.
•You will have either a valid SMSTS or SSSTS qualification. In addition you will have a valid First Aid qualification and hold a CSCS card.
