They require a Warehouse General Manager to be responsible for a 24/7 operation that has launced a new Automated Storage and Retrieval System. You would become the leader and influencer of a large team in both warehousing and logistics. Focussing on driving high performance through team management, engagement, team effectiveness, training and development. The duties are varied across the warehouse function including a bulk/mid-bulk operation, conventional warehousing and from summer this year, an Automated Storage Retrieval System as well as a Customer Logistics operation. The role essentially is a people manager role that requires someone with proven leadership, coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to challenge the status quo. You must be an effective communicator who can collaborate with all stakeholders, internally and externally. Which will assist in creating an effective cross-functional culture throughout warehousing and distribution. This role will involve budgetary control and will encourage the delivery of key projects and Continuous Improvement programmes to achieve and exceed the site's objectives.
Degree calibre professional with a logistics/distribution background in a leadership position is essential. Previous experience with automation would be highly desirable and advantageous.
You will be a bold and effective communicator with the ability to make timely decisions, without losing sight of the bigger picture, and long-term objectives. Candidates must be devoted and strive to engage staff and continue their ethos to create a workplace that gets the best out of people.
