This creative agency, based on the border of Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire, is a true innovator in its field. A creative agency which designs and builds software and games to attract and educate young creatives by showcasing, in a creative way, which careers they could go into within the digital world. They are now looking for a UI Designer / Interface Designer to work closely together with a team of Creatives, Developers and Researchers, to create engaging characters and games with a strong UI/UX focus.
Led by an inspirational Director, who is all about innovation, pushing creative boundaries and inspiring people (both staff and people within the industry), this is a software agency that is truly on the map for the work that they do and the talent that it generates. They create software programmes for teenagers to engage and interact with, crack levels and raise awareness of the different careers involved within the cyber space. In their 4th year currently, they are a 22-strong team that consist of Animators, Illustrators, Designers, Developers and Videographers, who all collaborate together daily to come up with new ideas for new products, as well as new innovations to change challenges within their current software programmes; all with the main aim of educating and looking for young talent within the digital and cyber industry.
This team are all about having fun when they get together for quarterly meetings; often away for night (at the company's expense), where you will have team get togethers and lots of activities, such as escape rooms or laser quest. With the ability to work remotely for most of the time (or in the office if you prefer), but with meetings in London and Gloucestershire every quarter, you will truly to able to have a flexible working arrangement, utilising technology such as Slack to ensure that you are always part of the team, creating engaging and innovative designs across both new and existing products.
You will be utilising software such as Sketch, CSS, HTML and the Adobe Creative suite to design and build new interfaces, whilst improving existing ones as their products evolve.
There is also front-end design and development involved in this role, so you need to be comfortable with creating code in HTML and SCSS and experience with using Git for building or working within custom design systems and frameworks, essentially understanding responsive design and browser testing whilst also creating concepts in design and coming up with new characters/graphics.
As UI Designer, you will love all things digital and love coming up with new ideas and solving problems and challenges in a creative way. Working alongside their Chief Product Officer, who is highly creative and loves to collaborate across the whole of the creative and technical teams, you will have a keen eye for interface design and a passion for creating amazing user experience's whilst solving complex problems; all in a day's work. You will have good communication skills and the ability to work under your own direction and collaborate with other team members who are often working remotely.
Having the option to work onsite in their creative offices in a beautiful market town in Gloucestershire (close to Oxfordshire), or choosing to work mainly remotely from the comfort of your own home: the choice is yours, although making sure that you are available for any key meetings and the quarterly get togethers.
This software agency is very open to the level of experience that you have, so they are open to someone with just a few year's industry experience as a UI/Interface Designer, or possibly an E-learning Designer, equally, you may have a number of years' experience; the salary is commensurate with the amount of experience and level you are at currently.
