Job Title: Test Technician
Salary: Up to £22,800 (dependent on experience) + Shift Allowance of £2738pa plus excellent pension scheme and generous company benefits, plus free on-site parking.
Location: Shipley, West Yorkshire
Working Hours: Mon to Thurs 12:00noon – 8:00pm, Fri 10:00am - 3:00pm
Our client is currently looking for a permanent Test Technician to join their existing team. You will have Test technician background within industry.
The test department provides a complete and efficient mechanical testing service to the product engineering and quality departments. The position of Test Technician offers an interesting and varied job for an individual who has practical engineering abilities and a constantly questioning mind.
A large selection of engineering disciplines are employed; mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, control and instrumentation - an interest in process machine fault finding and rectification, along with circuit diagram knowledge would be clearly beneficial. There is also the chance to use some of the most up to date data analysis equipment and software packages.
·To implement tests to the criteria laid down in the relevant specifications to allow validation of the company’s products
·To maintain and calibrate the test equipment to the necessary standards
·To compile test reports and to pass judgment on the test results obtained during testing
·To assist/advise other departments in the choice of suitable tests where unspecified
·Fault find and rectify test rig issues, organising maintenance work with external contractors if required.
·A practical aptitude, a good knowledge of general engineering skills and practical abilities, workshop and fabrication skills.
·An understanding of plant technology; pipelines, pumps, flow measurement, valves etc
·Good communication skills are essential along with the ability to work as part of a team.
·A full driving licence.
·Knowledge of component and material testing.
·Self-motivated with a desire towards potential further education.
Minimum requirement of a Level 3 or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline - preferably mechanical or process engineering including instrumentation, with a high attainment level.
