Today, we are trying to grow ourresources in the Project Commercial Management function. We are dealingwith projects ranging from development to production and delivery of completevehicles as well as running depots, including service and maintenance of trains,our Project Commercial Managers (PCM) are leading our Project Core Teams in themanagement of the commercial, contractual and claim aspects of the customer, consortiumpartners and supplier contracts.
The PCMs acts as wing man to the Project Managerfor all commercial matters in the project. They provide the knowledge and toolsto follow the contractual obligations and monitor compliance, making sure thatour company’s rights resulting from contractual changes are properly capturedand exercised and drive financial improvements for the project EAC.
Let’s review some of the maintasks a PCM will have in Bombardier:
Define, implement, maintainand support effective contract management, commercial management and claimsmanagement, policies, procedures, strategies and activities that promotecontractual compliance and prevention of claims
Successfully proceed with VOsand legitimate claims and defend effectively against claims made by otherparties
Define commercial strategiesand (co-)lead negotiations on VOs andclaims;
Where possible under thecontract, be main point of contact for the customer & partners incommercial matters
Hold contract awarenesssessions and hold specific trainings, participate in Change Control Boards, andRisk & Opportunity workshops and act as the main point of contact for theContracts & Legal function
Assist Project Management meetingsto maintain effective change management and contract management policies,procedures and activities
Prepare the necessaryreports and obtain all necessary approvals, in order to validate proposed VOs, claimresolution strategies and claim settlements.
Here are the qualificationsyou need:
Education: QuantitySurveyor; Business Management, Engineering, Finance or Legal degree;
Typically at least 5 yearsof experience in a relevant role
Experience in a similarindustry represents a plus
Soft skills: independentpractitioner, self-driven, self-organised, solution-oriented
Extensive experience ofProject Contract Management, Project Commercial Management, obligationmanagement, change management, claims resolution and litigation, cost recoverymanagement, dealing with/interpreting financial information.
Extensive knowledge ofdrafting and reviewing terms and conditions and risk assessment and mitigationplanning.
Extensive experience ofVariation Orders and claim preparation and resolution.
Sound commercial knowledgeand contract negotiation skills.
Knowledge in Delay Analysisand legal background represents a plus.
Language skills: ourinternational language is English, and we value any knowledge of another spokenlanguage
