Claremont Road, situated in Carrington in Nottingham, is a registered care home providing person centred care and support for adults with a learning disability. Established over twenty years ago, the property has twelve fully furnished bedrooms and strives to be a cosy, welcoming environment for its residents. Alongside a dedicated and supportive management team, the home currently also has eight Support Workers and five Care Assistants. As a Support Worker your role will be varied, with no two days being the same. Amongst some of your duties will be supporting with personal care needs, supporting activities, domestic duties, manual handling and emotional support. A willingness to learn and a desire to support people to live happy, fulfilled and independent lives is essential. Whilst previous experience in care is always desirable, we also welcome people who are seeking a new career in care, as plenty of training will be provided. You will be given an in depth induction and help towards obtaining your Care Certificate. On-going training and career progression opportunities are also available throughout the organisation. All successful candidates will be required to work on a shift basis over a 24 hour period including weekends, bank holidays and sleep- in’s; a 33% bonus is paid for waking nights and double time paid for Christmas and New Year shifts. In addition, an allowance of £36.24 also paid for sleep-ins. Please note that due to the needs of the customers, there may be an element of moving and handling involved in the role; as such, you will need to be willing and able to undertake these duties.
