The opportunity has arisen for fun and caring Support Workers to join our Second Avenue family in Carlton. Second Avenue, is a home for three individuals with learning and or physical disabilities, behaviours that challenge and complex needs. The support provided is to help them develop their skills and confidence for independent living. So what would a days support look like? Well, no two days will be the same as support provided is person-centred and based on what the person being supported wants to do. Although the residents may require help with personal care, maintaining health & safety, budgeting and administering medication/supervising self-administration, they have active social lives. As such, you will be required to support/accompany them to access social events of their choice, engage in activities/exercise to stay healthy and to generally live fulfilled and normal lives like you and me. As the residents are at the heart of the service we provide, we need our Support Workers to be flexible and be able to work on a shift basis including evenings, weekends and sleep-in shifts; for which a separate allowance is paid(£36.24).
