So if you are looking for a hybrid role where you can lead, strategise and also get hands on with Java software development then please read on…What You’ll Do:Contribute to the evolution of the products and services they support from small change up to strategic projects.Work within a delivery team and is empowered to make decisions which may influence the success of projects and team objectives.Direct line management duties you'll coach, lead and deal with the day to day of line management (absence, performance etc). Ultimately you will be accountable for the development of your team and their delivery of work to the wider business.Influence project stakeholders, customers, suppliers and peers to assure the quality of the work they deliver.Ensure line management, coaching and mentoring of a squad consisting of developers, testers and third parties, carrying out all individual team progress reviews including 1-2-1', objective setting & review, probation reviews, etcTake ownership for the ‘how’ within a squad, advising on all things tech and working closely with the Product Owners and Solution Architects for that squad, responsible for the ‘what’ and the ‘when’Supporting the Agile Delivery Manager in the running of the squad in a way which promotes the highest level of efficiencyEssential skills and experience required:Experienced Java developer using Java 7 (or above) to design and develop high volume highly scalable software solutions in an Agile framework using TDD and BDD methodologiesAs such you’ll already be well versed in any of the following:Web service protocols such as REST, SOAP, API; Agile Development frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, Cloud Computing (AWS), ORM technologies such as Hibernate as well as messaging-based architecture tools such as RabbitMQ or SQS Line management experience of coaching, leading and developing a team of developersProven experience of working with Version Control (Git/SVN) and Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins)What we can offer you: We can offer you a competitive salary, bonus, 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, 3% contribution into your pension, life assurance and income protection.
