Preferred Qualifications Software Development Engineer in Test – Oracle Public Cloud, Infrastructure-as-a-Service Cloud Infrastructure Group (Seattle, WA) Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team is building new Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer with cloud infrastructure experience to join our team. As an ideal candidate you will be technically strong and have an understanding of large-scale distributed systems (cloud-based environments). In addition, you will have a solid understanding of quantitative test approaches for testing distributed systems. In this role you will contribute to the development of automated test frameworks and tooling to support unit, integration, regression, stress, and performance testing of large-scale IaaS systems. You will have a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the tools & frameworks you create. As a Software Development Engineer in Test you will be responsible for ensuring that our cloud infrastructure solutions are designed and built with the highest quality in mind. You will partner with the development team responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing IaaS solutions. You will build automated test infrastructure and operate test infrastructure as a service to support developers to test systems they are developing. Through this work, you will drive quality, performance, and stability metrics into the product development lifecycle across the IaaS team. Your work will ensure our cloud infrastructure systems are built to exceed our customers’ expectations on quality, performance, and fault tolerance. Qualifications • 4+ years experience as a software development engineer (SDE/SDET) • Strong understanding of common test approaches and concepts • Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in test automation • Strong knowledge of testing distributed systems, and service-oriented architectures • Strong knowledge of testing and automating REST and RESTful based web services • Development experience in Python and/or Java • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences • Comfortable in a collaborative, agile development environment Preferred Qualifications • Experienced with quantitative and statistical measurement approaches • Familiarity and understanding of automated security testing Oracle is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
