Software Developer (Sitecore / C#) Birmingham Up to £40,000 dependant on experience Permanent We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer to join our Technology Department. Working within our Tech & Transformation Division these roles will primarily be within our Digital Programme and sit within our newly created Engineering team. We are currently going through a Transformation programme to replace several legacy systems with a fewer number of modern solutions. The projects have included development of a new CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and POS (Point-of-Sale) system based on Microsoft Dynamics 365, and continues with a Digital Programme that is looking at replacing our website and customer portals. The role will be varied, but will focus on developing new applications and integrations (C#/MVC), and supporting the new Content Management System (Sitecore). In addition, there will be a requirement to develop and deliver infrastructure within our Azure subscription to support the business requirements. Delivery of projects is being primarily managed using Agile methodologies. The role will also be required to support applications delivered previously as part of the Transformation programme, or legacy applications until they’re updated or replaced. Main responsibilities and key activities: Involved in the Digital Programme technical team to support delivering the new Content Management System (Sitecore), Azure infrastructure, web-services and integrations. Enhance/modify existing or develop new applications, as per requirements – this includes developing integration solutions (APIs and workflows) and provisioning Azure cloud services using Dev/Ops practices. Ensure high-quality code and technical designs are created, and follow all aspects of SDLC Identify improvements for code-refactoring and “paying off” technical debt. Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code. Handle requests via various channels – for both support and project. Deliver first class customer service to our head office and field customer base by providing 2nd/3rd support when required. Continual learning of new Wesleyan technology features and functionality. Work closely and effectively with third party development partners and IT suppliers to resolve incidents and whilst delivering solutions via projects or smaller initiatives. Investigates ways to improve existing processes and implements process improvements within the scope of the IT department. Work on departmental and organisational projects in a development capacity as when required. The successful candidates will be an experienced Microsoft stack .NET developer with at least 4-5 years of solid experience working extensively in C# and SQL Server. They will have strong skills in both, WEB API experience and ideally knowledge of using a .NET-based CMS package. You must be familiar with and be following SOLID design patterns in your development activity and be using a Test Driven Development approach in all your work. Hands-on experience of designing and delivering cloud solution using Microsoft Azure is necessary. Understanding of various Azure technologies is also a must – including, Azure App Services, Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Search. Previous experience of Dynamics CRM and scripting cloud deployments is desirable. Any experience of mentoring staff is also advantageous. Candidate should ideally have a degree or equivalent qualification, and have previous experience of working in a development role in a commercial environment and strong teamwork orientation, interaction and collaboration we are looking for you to display exceptional customer service and a willingness and desire to work in a cross-disciplined role.
