Service Engineer and Technician positions available
£30k to £40k (neg dep exp and hours worked) + generous overtime + benefits
Our client is renowned as a market leader in the provision of innovative and bespoke integrated systems and offer a range of high quality services and solutions that encompass Project Management and Implementation, Consultancy and Software Development to blue chip clients worldwide, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a number of enthusiastic, technically passionate and resourceful engineers to join their dynamic and talented Systems Support team in either a Service Engineer or service technician dependent upon experience.
The team is responsible for the design and modification of existing SCADA and PLC software and associated sub-systems, and also perform preventative maintenance and a 24-hour emergency call out service to customer sites throughout the UK, and the successful service engineer and technicians will be based out of a head office environment in Derby and demonstrate a strong interest in engineering and technology and the ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a strong professional team.
You will be a determined and conscientious individual who thrives within a fault diagnosis and problem-solving environment and is comfortable in working in a customer facing role to deliver the highest levels of customer service at all times, and essentially will be able to undertake extensive travel throughout the UK on a regular basis, realistically staying away at customer sites 3-4 nights each week on site as well as weekend work as and when required.
In addition to undertaking build and test activities at the Derby Head Office when not out in the field, you will also be responsible for planning, procuring, maintaining and reporting over a wide range of sites and sub-systems across the customer base, so excellent organisational and communication skills are essential for the position.
Whilst extensive training on the company product portfolio is available, it is envisaged that the successful service engineer candidates will be qualified to at least HNC level or above in a relevant electrical, electronic or controls related discipline and will hold a full UK driving licence, with previous experience in the use of PLC and SCADA systems proving distinctly advantageous.
