Senior UX Designer Location: Bingley Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 Closing Date: Friday 12 October 2018 Are you a Senior UX Designer with Extensive IA and UI/UX skills? This is an exciting opportunity for a user-centred designer, who has a passion for creating exceptional user experiences and who understands the importance of a user first approach to join a thriving digital team. You will be working with a cross-functional team to ensure the smooth transition of product ideas through the conceptual, investigative, and approval phases to the live user facing stage and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be comfortable creating approval designs as both UX/UI centred wireframes and graphical mock-ups. The position foremost defines and prioritizes the product requirements for conceptual launch, focus groups and associated market research and proof of concept testing. This role will also include line management responsibility of another UX Designer, experience of this previously would be advantageous. Key Responsibilities: Produce standardized, UX deliverables including information graphics to elucidate user research insights, navigation, and user interfaces with sitemaps, paper prototypes, wireframes, and screen mock-ups as needed Ensure all UI definition and development is consistent with usability standards, best practices, and strategy Participate in product development discussions that take concepts through to pilot. Work directly with Product Managers and Business Technology, delivering product specifications from customer feedback and assets. Generate quick schematics and mock-ups for rapid deployment in market testing Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the Business & Product Innovation, Business Technology and Senior Management teams. Partner with Product Managers, Business Technology and other designers to ensure that the user experience is simple, straightforward, and elegant. Support the development of concepts in line with the business process model, taking into account existing capabilities and technical architecture/roadmaps Visualize and illustrate product ideas and concepts Apply user-centred design practices to create simple-to-use and engaging visualizations. Build strong relationships with stakeholders throughout the organization. Partner with product/project managers to define the problems, solutions, requirements and prioritization. . Research and analyse targeted competition to determine the competitive environment with regard to content presentation and the implications for our own product set. Extensive IA and UI/UX skills. Ability to clearly represent key concept areas at all levels from basic sketches, through wireframes and graphical mock-ups. Strong skills with relevant design tools, for example: Pencil, Balsamiq, Maqetta, Mockuptiger, and Adobe Creative Suite. Ability to represent product concepts on a variety of delivery platforms. Demonstrate a good grasp of digital design, animation and typography fundamentals, as well as a basic knowledge of current and emerging design techniques - touchscreen and gesture led, responsive/adaptive etc. Solid experience with digital media, ecommerce, and social media. Understanding of multi-platform product planning, helping to define principles and vision, in addition to day-to-day objectives. Portfolio of digital product design that has been built and shipped to users. Demonstrate a working knowledge of interaction principles, patterns, and trends. Experience of designing, developing and managing complex digital projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A passion for digital media and knowledge of current digital trends. Exposure to developing products for mobile with consideration to UI and responsive/adaptive design.
