Senior Paraplanner Location: Guildford Salary: Closing Date: Tuesday 11 December 2018 Job Purpose: Has an in-depth knowledge of complex written advice and understanding for Tilney’s clients’ needs and the desired client outcomes. Works with the Client Delivery Manager (CDM) to be a technical point of contact and trainer to the Paraplanner team in the delivery of high quality, complex client advice and is also the technical point of reference for the Client Relationship Associates / Specialists. Prepares client work for Financial Planners and delivers exemplary advice in an efficient manner whilst mitigating any risks to the business and assisting with the achievement of business targets. Key Responsibilities: A subject matter expert (SME), role model and key contact to the whole Paraplanner team, providing assistance and answering queries of a highly technical nature. Act as a coach/mentor to local team in terms of delivering Financial Planning advice, including training and coaching on the individual components of advice creation, such as: Reviewing a client's current situation via the factfind/filenotes Assessing a client's risk profile Writing high quality, client focussed advice reports Tilney’s proposition Seek constantly to assess and improve Tilney’s advice and service delivery model. Identify issues, raise them with the relevant teams and be part of solutions developed. Liaise with other Senior Paraplanners – Technical, to ensure consistency of approach. Support the CDM’s by disseminating important information at weekly team meetings. Actively participate in Paraplanner communications strategy including delivering sections of the monthly Paraplanner call and updating the content of the intranet. Maintain profile with local Financial Planning team by delivering updates in team meetings and working with CDM/Financial Planning Manager. Attend project meetings/workshops as SME providing appropriate input when required. Participate in the design and delivery of training to the team as a SME, on a 1-1 coaching basis or as a Lync trainer to small groups. Work with stakeholders to deliver a high quality and seamless service to our clients ensuring compliance requirements for all documentation and advice are met. Skills and Qualifications: 5 years+ of operational experience within the financial services industry with solid technical knowledge of financial services products, ideally Chartered (or working toward) Proven track record of delivering written financial advice. Effective at technical and product researching. Organisation and prioritisation skills being able to work independently and within a team. Excellent verbal, written communication and IT skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to coach and mentor team members.
