Cambridge University Library is looking to recruit a Senior Library Assistant for our English Cataloguing department. The department supports teaching and research in the University by cataloguing material received by purchase and through Legal Deposit. The work involves cataloguing and classifying a very wide range ofpublications, from children's books to academic conference proceedings.
The Senior Library Assistant will take on more specialised cataloguing, and will learn more advanced authority work, for example drafting proposals for new authority records. They will also share responsibility for training and producing documentation for libraries across Cambridge.
The role holder must be able to work accurately and show attention to detail, and also communicate effectively with members of the department and the wider library staff.
