We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our team in Leicester on a permanent, full time basis.
As a Senior Engineer, you will provide support to the Engineering Manager and act as deputy in the achievement of functional objectives that support the Site/Plant and Company Business Plan. You will work closely with the production team to continuously improve site overall equipment effectiveness, people development and a lean culture.
Supporting the Engineering Manager and Engineering team, you will assist in ensuring regulatory compliance at all times, carrying out regular analysis and ensuring corrective action is implemented where appropriate. You will provide support in ensuring that risk assessments, including COSSH and RIDDOR are implemented and undertaken and accident prevention measures initiated as required.
Assisting with the planning and monitoring of safety training, reinforcing the safety culture embedded in the plant. As Senior Engineer you will also assist in resource coordination, supporting the Engineering Manager with planning, organising and coordinating resources to meet production requirements of ongoing maintenance, machine replacement, including installation and testing, and any unplanned issues. This will include providing support to the Engineering Manager to deliver appropriate training to Engineers and Operators on new machinery. Overseeing the Engineering team during any period of Engineering Manager absence you will monitor, manage and control all activities in accordance with agreed functional budgets.
We are looking for an experienced engineer, with proven experience of industrial maintenance or production. You will be educated to degree level or NVQ Level 5 (in relevant engineering field), with hands on operational maintenance experience preferred.
A self-starter you will be proactive, working to put measures in place to continuously improve the working environment, and developing and leading all engineering functions as agreed with the Engineering Manager. A strategic, analytical thinker, with good business acumen you will be able to demonstrate a track record of commercial awareness and the ability to think from a customers’ perspective. Possessing excellent communication skills, you will be able to motivate others, with a coaching style that builds effective teams and manages performance positively.
NEBOSH Qualification (Desirable)
Experience in applying and implementing LEAN manufacturing systems (Desirable)
