Williams Advanced Engineering’s ongoing success at winning new Motorsports business mean that we are able to further strengthen the Motorsport design group with the creation of a permanent role of Senior Design Engineer.
Reporting to the Principal Engineer - Motorsport, this is an exciting new role where the successful candidate will dovetail into the existing team structure of design and development engineers in the Motorsport group.
Duties will be wide ranging and varied and will include: conducting concept design evaluations, management of CAD assembly structures, drawing sign-off and fault resolution activities. Additional duties will include elements of project delivery responsibility and mentorship of junior engineers.
The role will require a strong background in component design using 3D CAD software and completing & releasing engineering drawings in a timely manner. It would also be desirable to have some experience in the design and use of rig and test equipment (instrumentation & data capture).
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in high-level motorsport. Previous exposure to electric or hybrid vehicle programmes will be highly advantageous, but not essential.
Written and verbal communication will need to be of an extremely high standard as the role will require significant customer liaison and responsibility for information and data transfer. Off-site customer visits and occasional event support may be necessary.
