As part of our client’s specialist Seismic Processing department, the ideal candidate will undertake the processing and quality control of seismic data, both within the seismic processing department’s office in Great Yarmouth and also offshore. You will be responsible for geophysical analysis and selecting the appropriate processing techniques to produce consistently high-quality data for our clients both internally and externally.
Candidates are required to be flexible within their team and positive about working with the variety of other teams across the company. You will also have the ability and confidence to adapt accordingly to requirements in a scientific and technical environment, with the added pressures of time deadlines.
As this position is primarily a seagoing role, candidates must be prepared to work on seismic vessels and pass required medical and survival certifications. This role will also involve time in the office, so relocation to the area of East Anglia may be required, but this will depend on candidates’ skills, experience, qualifications and training needs.
Candidates will have a degree in a geosciences, physics or mathematics related subject and have an analytical, attention to detail and quality driven work ethic. You must be confident using a variety of general and specialist IT systems and software packages and have the ability to communicate information professionally and effectively.
Experience within geosciences related data acquisition, either academic or commercial would certainly be beneficial, as would a higher-level degree in a geosciences related discipline. A full drivers’ licence would also be advantageous.
