Sales & Marketing Assistant
Location: Hockley, Birmingham
Salary: £18,000 - £22,000, DoE
Hours: 40 hours between 09.00am – 17.30pm (May include some weekend working)

Our client have a fantastic opportunity for a Sales & Marketing Support Administrator to undertake administration and other office duties that leave the sales team free to focus on the business of selling.
You will need excellent clerical and keyboard skills and a keen sense of customer service. A good standard of education is essential for the role and the ability to cope with the pressure of deadlines and making decisions.
Responsibilities of the Sales & Marketing Assistant:
•Provide a point of contact for customers when Sales Manager is away or on holiday
•Support with basic admin tasks such as:
•Send out literature on the company, and products for new enquires
•Price change admin e.g. new products, promotions
•Check invoice prices particularly over promotion periods
•Arrange samples for prospective and new customers
•Help complete new line and other customer forms
•Deal with day to day queries regarding orders, deliveries and stock issues
•Establish a desk-based relationship with key buyers and support staff with top ten Customers. Ideally meet these contacts at least once a year.
•After training become conversant with supermarket supplier websites.
•To produce sales orientated reports from the data and comment on trends.
•Participate in the preparation in product management plans. These include:
•Maintaining and circulating promotion plans to advise internal staff
•Prepare and administer product launch plans
•Prepare and administer account profitability plans
•Create and distribute internally, actual sales figures, projects and forecasts of future Sales; including factors such as promotional plans or seasonal factors.
•Participate in store mapping exercises
•Contact potential customers
•Identify location of current stores selling products
•Gap analysis to identify potential store target
•General Market Research
•Support with production planning
•Competitor retail price survey by major account
•Ad-hoc surveys – on line or paper in store
•Assist with prep & implementation of NPD plans
•Manage and update Company website and social media
•In store merchandising as and when required
Requirements of the Sales & Marketing Assistant:
•Relevant degree or at least 3 years sales and marketing experience
•Excellent knowledge of business social media accounts
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Excellent customer service skills
•A high level of proof-reading accuracy and attention to detail
•Ability to manage a varying workload
•Strong initiative, drive and a flair for creativity and innovation
•Ability to manage the social media accounts and generate ideas
•The ability to establish a desk-based relationship with key buyers and support staff;
•Good general administration and organisational skills
•A positive team player with the ability to think and act on own initiative in an integrated sales and marketing environment
•Good time management
•Excellent interpersonal skills, able to deal with people at all levels
•Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
•Dealing with the top supermarkets and wholesale would be an advantage
•Previous food manufacturing experience would be an advantage
