Our client has been established for more than a century and is renowned globally as a market leader in their specialist field. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are urgently seeking to recruit a highly self-motivated, proactive and dynamic Sales Manager to oversee all aspects of Sales strategy development and implementation within a dedicated fast paced niche sector manufacturing environment and operate as the primary focal point of all sales related activities within the niche Heat Transfer Division for the European market.
This role is part of a small Sales team based in the UK near Rugby and requires a very close working relationship with Engineering, Applications, Operations and Global sister sites that manufacture an array of engine products and, able to be based anywhere in the UK, the successful Sales Manager will undertake extensive travel throughout the UK and internationally, and be responsible for the development and implementation of the company sales strategy to ensure the achievement of annual targets. You will proactively undertake the Business development of new opportunities, including identification and development of new customers, relationship building, and secure initial business through to the management of target account processing as well as the development of new markets, new sales channels or new applications that will prove commercially viable for the business as a whole.
Additionally, you will work closely with the Applications Engineering and Mechanical Design resources to support regional and global brand requirements and will ensure margin target achievement through the management of accurate costing information and tools and disciplined margin/price application in adherence to established Pricing Policies. Other duties will include supporting the resolution of customer complaints, warranty claims, accounts receivables, development of annual booking plans and participation in overall annual planning process, as well as submitting reports to the management team, visiting customers as business requirements dictate and identifying and coordinating marketing activities for the brand.
To be considered for this varied and challenging Sales Manager role you will essentially need to demonstrate an analytical approach to problem solving and an Action/Results Oriented/Execution mentality to sales and business development with excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels. You will possess strong commercial acumen and exceptional negotiation and presentation skills as well as an organised approach and proven prioritising abilities and will realistically be degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline although an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be favourably considered.
Previous experience of working in an engineering and manufacturing environment is required, with experience in Plex or a similar ERP system and engines knowledge or heat transfer experience proving distinctly advantageous along with at least 5 years' dedicated sales / account development and management experience.
