The Role This a new role for us as we look to bring more Quality expertise in house and expand the service we can give to our internal stakeholders. Our quality manager is responsible for the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of wilko’s quality management system to create a strong due diligence position, by demonstrating that the company consistently delivers product compliance to agreed legal, safety, and quality requirements. Here are just some of the things you’ll be involved in Ensuring internal and supplier facing wilko Quality Management System and associated manuals are understood, implemented, and reviewed regularly. You’ll ensure wilko can demonstrate and complies with all relevant regulatory requirements and existing products comply with legislation change or new legislation before the legal cut-off date. You’ll manage the creation, training, roll-out, compliance and ongoing maintenance of all technical policies, due diligence processes and quality management documentation pertaining to product legality, integrity and ethical trading. You’ll monitor policies, processes and other technical due diligence documentation to demonstrate compliance to applicable regulations and standards to the company or any external enforcement body. Maintain and monitor a repository that provides an auditable history of the approval process for product and pack copy. Oversee all relevant processes and monitor their consistent usage to ensure new, redesigned or re-sourced products are designed, selected, approved, inspected, and monitored in accordance with legal, safety, and functionality requirements. Pertaining to new/changing legislation or voluntary standards, take responsibility for representing wilko at consultation meetings with relevant regulatory groups and industry bodies. You’ll oversee the collation of data and submission to relevant authorities to demonstrate compliance and document wilko obligations for the three key areas of producer responsibility: Packaging Waste, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Waste Batteries Directives. What we need from you We need someone who has the ability to collate and interpret data from multiple sources We need this along with: Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in Quality Management Systems and / or Regulatory Compliance. Ability to understand, interpret and apply technical due diligence documentation e.g. manufacturing standards, test certificates, product specifications etc. Ability to collate and interpret data from multiple sources. Good planning and organisational skills - able to manage a demanding workload and conflicting priorities of self and team. Experienced in regulatory compliance environment. Experienced in managing quality management and supplier management systems.
