We are recruiting a Project Manager with a proven track record of safely completing projects valued between £10 - £30m in sectors to include Commercial, Schools and Higher Education, Health, Mixed-Use and Leisure. The role will be based in the Scottish region of our construction business. You will be based on projects around Scotland and be expected to travel to our regional office in Glasgow or Edinburgh. About the role Ideally you should have a broad technical construction knowledge to cover complicated structures. You would be expected to demonstrate a clear understanding of the design management role, procurement and management of subcontractors with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects safely, on time and to budget. Knowledge of environmental management together with BREEAM and CCS is also required. • Overall management of site health and safety, security and fire policies acting as Project Health and Safety Manager. • Leading the project team and managing staff. • Preparing and issuing Project Management Plans, including regular reviews and revisions as necessary. • Being the single point of contact with the client’s team producing and presenting regular reports. • Working closely with the commercial team to procure sub-contractors and contribute to a positive outcome. • Agreeing main contract programmes, monitoring progress and implementing any corrective actions. • Setting and co-ordinating the achievement of agendas for the construction process. • Setting up quality procedures and ensuring these are implemented. • Establishing project industrial relations that reflect BAM procedures. • Procurement of sub contractors, ensuring competence of subcontractors in compliance with BAM and Build UK requirements, prior to appointment. • Ensuring BAM construction environmental procedures are implemented on site. Who are we looking for? • An understanding and ability to relate to respect for the BAM Values. • Broad construction technical experience across sectors. • Either a trades background or HNC/HND/Degree qualified. • SMSTS as a minimum together with demonstrable ability to manage health and safety on site. • The ability to add value to the construction process. • Knowledge of Forms of Contract. • Competent in the use of IT including cloud-based collaborative management tools such as BIM 360. • Self-motivation and well-developed team skills. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Experience of the pre-construction and tendering process. • Clean driving licence.
