Description VP IT Project Manager Fleet, Hampshire The primary function of the Payments Technology Project Manager is to support the Barclaycard Payment Services business and in doing so running payment transactions for 30% of the UK high street, adding business value by leveraging technology solutions and payments domain / industry knowledge. You will define the content and manage direction of projects to support high performance delivery of mission critical card payment products and features. Your Role Establish and anchor a project to facilitate transition to the target state and decrease a project's deployment risks Manage activities in a change project. Includes engaging stakeholders, from both the business and Technology in the change effort and ensuring they are ready to adopt the coming changes Project planning, estimating, budgeting, resource allocation, monitoring, controlling, benefits realisation, closing and lessons learned This will require an advanced level of communication skill and the ability to negotiate and influence to get the right outcome for the business area sponsoring the change The role holder will be responsible for quality on the project, with the responsibility of ensuring that the project has the relevant documentation The development of the plan will require the ability to challenge and question stakeholders across many areas of the business, analyse the inputs and build a detailed and complex plan Plan and support labour relations and/or employee relations discussions, as necessary. Chair regular progress reviews of the project and report progress Essential Skills Extensive experience as Project Manager working in a technology environment. Demonstrable experience of defining and leading complex projects for creation of new products and features to successful closure. Strong stakeholder management – making oneself understood, sharing information, listening to and encouraging others to get involved. Ability to juggle priorities, multi-task and flawlessly execute at speed. Desirable Skills Understands role of organisational change management and challenges of working in transitional environments. Knowledge of the card payments industry and overall understanding of the Financial Services Industry. Knowledge of Agile methods and tools. PM or Agile certification.
