PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for leading, managing and coordinating the engineering related activities in projects to support the ORBITA wayside solutions on behalf of Global Services to deliver on requirements, budget and schedule.The post holder will perform a coordination role for all internal and external suppliers delivering and supporting applications for the ORBITA projects under their responsibility.

The role in Derby, UK is a great opportunity to be part of the continuous Improvement activities in this commodity group and ensure that these improvements are encompassed during the on-cycle activities.
·Management and coordination of all the project deliverables from project kick-off to project realization including the translation of the Project Requirements into an agreed Statement of Work, creation and maintenance of a Detailed Project Schedule, coordination with the Global Services and Engineering development teams and liaison with the Operations teams to ensure delivery on-time and on budget to the required quality
·Lead regular project meetings with internal BT regional project representatives to provide updates on project progress, address requests for changes in project scope, ensure that project dependencies are managed and the project risks are identified and mitigated.
·Support technical offers and costings for ORBITA solutions to bids and Invitations to Tender for BT regions.
·Prepare and update monthly dashboard reports for each project, including financial and technical KPIs, to enable senior management to monitor the progress of each project and to highlight risks and opportunities which require attention.
·Prepare and maintain presentation and documentation material to promote the ORBITA Tool set, including best practice examples of application of the tools and to identify innovations, supported by business cases, to be incorporated into the tool set.
Your EXPERIENCE AND Qualifications
·Bachelor of Engineering, Master’s Degree, PhD Degree or similar in an Engineering
·Good knowledge of maintenance practices
·Min 2 years Project management experience
·Services business experience
·Good communication skills
·Experience from railway industry would be beneficial
