JOB PURPOSE You will capture technical requirements and deliver projects, in collaboration with our industrial partners, on the The Central Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) Test Bed. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Conduct engineering design activity into the integration of connected and autonomous systems in to test and demonstration vehicles used to support the CAV Test Bed. This will involve comprehensive literature and internet searches as well as arranging meetings with project stakeholders and technical specialists from industry technology providers (suppliers to the industry), academic staff within WMG, and other university departments. 2. Will lead requirements capture for the creation of the digital twins and prepare requirements specification for virtual environment and digital twin model. Will also validate and verify digital models against original requirements using real-world data and developing test scenarios to test quality and accuracy of data in the digital twin. 3. Develop and integrate hardware and software solutions on CAV demonstrator and test vehicles including sensor data capture to be used for the testing of autonomous control systems. 4. Design and facilitate collaborator workshops to capture and define requirements for various integration, sensor solutions and digital twin specifications. 5. Deputise for the work package leader at senior management meetings as required ensuring that appropriate input is given and outcomes are reported to the project manager and others within the research team in a timely manner. 6. To attend and present project findings at professional conferences and contribute to the external visibility and profile of the department 7. Assist with the development of the CAV Test bed and to disseminate and embed knowledge within project partners. 8. Develop activity plans to ensure that the business outputs agreed with the funding bodies are achieved within the agreed timescales and reported on a regular basis 9. Where requested, represent the university and WMG at national and international events and report outcomes to the Project Manager and others within the research group in a timely manner. 10. Capture and record all work professionally in structured technical documentation.
