The successful candidate will have responsibility for Supporting pricing activity and model development, forecasting activity and experience studies in relation to Cigna’s Global Health business, which encompasses Group Medical and Non Medical products across Europe and Africa.
Supporting the development, testing and documentation of Actuarial models for ongoing pricing optimisation, in particular the medical pricing model. Supporting and advising Underwriting and the business in relation to pricing case referrals on items such as new market entry or new product development. Updating Claim and Loss Ratio projections for financial planning and forecasting. Testing adequacy of premium rates and profitability to help make recommendations for future price changes. Preparation of actual to expected Loss Ratio experience to understand business drivers. Preparation of experience studies to enhance pricing optimisation. Identifying data requirements to support model development or projects to ensure that that data is complete, accurate and fit for purpose. Provide other technical actuarial support to the business in relation to pricing.
The Pricing Actuarial Specialist reports directly to the Pricing Actuarial Manager and will also work closely with Underwriting, Marketing and Finance.The Actuarial Specialist can support all Global Health business written in Europe and Africa where Cigna writes business.
Either BSc in Actuarial Science from UK University with maximum 8 exemptions from IFoA actuarial examinations granted.
Or completion of all IFoA Core Principles (previously Core Technical) actuarial examinations combined with at least 3-5 years of experience in the Insurance Industry.
