Reporting to the Business and Technology Development Manager you will be part of the Advanced Packaging R&D team. As a Power Electronics Engineer you will support design, development and manufacturing of the companies next generation power electronics modules.
This position will allow you to become an integral part of a team of specialists in materials, mechanical, electronics and packaging engineers that strive to push the boundaries of conventional microelectronics packaging. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Interpret customer requirements and translate into specifications
Design, validation and industrialization of power conversion modules
Simulation of electrical and thermal performance
Produce design validation regimes and production test plan to ensure performance criteria is achieved.
Work closely with layout, material, process and packaging engineers to develop next generation power module packaging
Ability to undertake technical reviews with engineering experts
Define new technology and innovations for future roadmap
Identify continuous improvement opportunities for cost reduction in design and manufacturing
Support new product proposals and proposals to modify existing products.
Take on other engineering duties as required and assigned.
Support in-house training programmes as required.
Travel internationally on occasion as requested.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline
Up to 3 years’ experience working in a similar role
Knowledge/understanding of high-power and high-voltage design and control issues
Understanding of power module converters
Knowledge of simulation packages for high power design
Interpersonal and communication skills
Self-motivating, proactive and results driven approach
Problem-solving and root cause identification skills
Able to work to deadlines with good quality
