BMI Healthcare's Fawkham Manor has a vacancy for a Porter (Bank) to join their team of staff in the Portering department. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. Duties of this role include: To assist the Hotel Services Manager, and Receptionists in providing an efficient and reliable Portering and Night Security service throughout the hospital and to participate in the development of the Portering service within the hospital.To provide and maintain a high quality and pro-active portering service to all our customers, consultants and staff.To adhere to the standards set in the BMI behaviours framework.To have a genuine concern for customer care and satisfaction.To transport specimens around the hospital as specified and at regular intervals.To remove refuse, soiled laundry and clinical waste from departments when specified.To assist clinical staff transporting patients to and from departments in wheelchairs, beds or on trolleys as necessary.To monitor, order and change all of the medical gases as specified.To change around the restaurant and any rooms as necessary for functions.To cover for night security during holidays and sickness.To be an active member of the fire, security, green and cardiac teams.To drive the Hospital van to specified places.To make the weekly and monthly checks as specified.To maintain the wheelchairs with weekly checksTo be competent and capable of answering the main hospital switchboard and greeting our customers when specified and necessary.To maintain and empty the shredder.
