This is a senior operational leadership role. You will be accountable for developing the provision of sustainable registered care and supported/sheltered housing services for elderly residents in Northern England, in compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, and Abbeyfield’s mission and values.Job Description
In return for your commitment, we offer a great pay and benefits package. This includes a car allowance, 28 days paid leave, plus 8 bank/public holidays, a generous occupational sick pay scheme, and a pension scheme with a 4% employer contribution (up to 6% if matched by the employee).Description of the role
With 36 services and a workforce approaching some 500 staff, and a similar number of residents, much of your work will involve empowering, coaching and supporting your Business and Home Managers, to help them provide a great ‘lived experience’ for our residents, whilst securing regulatory, quality and compliance requirements and other operational targets. But the underpinning rationale for this will be your desire to embed a culture that ensures all their residents are treated with respect and dignity and lead fulfilling lives.
You’ll naturally be a highly capable and supportive leader, ensuring complete clarity around what behaviours you expect from your colleagues and teams, and how they align with our values. In short, everyone knows what is expected from them. In return you will ensure high levels of staff engagement, and you will support and coach your area managers to ensure that their teams contain the necessary capacity and capability to ensure sustainable service provision. Our Ideal Candidate
First and foremost, you must be able to evidence an impressive track record of leading large geographically dispersed teams and multi-site operational delivery in a regulatory (ideally elderly care) setting. With strong people leadership skills; you will be skilled and experienced managing a geographically dispersed workforce using an inclusive and coaching style.
Ideally you’ll have working knowledge of quality and regulatory compliance as it relates to elderly care and supported housing provision. Equally, you will have the capability to motivate and inspire teams to build brand recognition in their local communities, and lead improvements in service reputation through the development of strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You’ll also be proficient at managing large operating budgets; and have achieved challenging budgetary targets. A highly effective communicator; you will know how to exploit available technology and tools to ensure team members get the right knowledge and information about the right things at the right time.About the House or Home you’ll be working in
