Our client is a UK manufacturer for the food industry and as they have many complex processes, they need a skilled engineer with an FMCG background
Job role / duties
Maintain / improve reliability of equipment in the factory to increase operational performance
Ensure effective, efficient and timely response to plant breakdowns.
Supporting the Engineering Manager in maintaining and improving standards on site
Promote safe working practises and ensure equipment is working efficiently and fit for purpose
Ensure purchased items conform to with legislative, moral and European directive requirements
Carry out duties ensuring the site achieves and maintains required GMP standards
Ensure that risk assessments are completed and actioned.
Reduce customer complaints and wastage through effective maintenance and continuous improvement.
Gather and use data to analyse losses on equipment and take steps to reduce it.
Carry out site maintenance activities and ensure GMP standards are reached.
Monitor, update and improve the planned maintenance system and ensure work is progressed.
Ensure that plant and equipment perform to manufacture product efficiently to high quality standards.
To be considered for this role you must:
• Must have working experience with packaging machinery
•Have NVQ Level 3 Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Time served apprenticeship and ideally HNC or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
•Have Basic Food Safety HACCP Level 2 or higher
•Possess a minimum of 2 year previous experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer
•Have a good balance of electrical and mechanical skills and experience
•Be able to work a CMMS system
•Have excellent Health & Safety awareness
•Ideally experience of High Speed packing Machinery / Pressure Systems, valves and heat exchangers
•Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
•Have strong communication skills
•Be adaptable, results orientated & highly motivated and organised
Located on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border this role is commutable from Stafford, Newport, Telford and surrounds
