Manchester SQE Training Programme 2021 – Commercial
Our programme will prepare you for the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE), the new route to qualification that is coming into effect from Autumn 2021. The new SQE training programme will take the form of a Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship and allows you to start working and earning at Kennedys immediately after university, while gaining qualifying legal work experience in one of our teams before sitting the SQE1 and SQE2 exams to qualify as a solicitor. You will also be awarded a Postgraduate Certificate from BPP.
The two year six-month training programme will involve working at Kennedys four days a week and having one day a week to study at BBP. In addition to a dedicated supervisor at Kennedys, you will have a tutor and skills coach at BPP, to ensure that you have all the support you need at work and with your studies.
During the training programme, you may spend time working across the Manchester Commercial Division.
Employment – Kennedys’ employment team have considerable experience in dealing with the full range of employment related litigation, as well as day-to day HR issues and strategy. We support our clients with claims ranging in value and complexity covering the full range of employment disputes. The vast majority are litigated in the employment tribunal although we also act in civil claims, such as enforcing or defending restrictive covenant claims. We also support our clients on non-contentious advisory matters ranging from day-to-day ad hoc advice to client HR teams to complex TUPE and collective redundancy situations.
Corporate – Kennedys’ corporate team act for a diverse client base, from start-ups to multinationals, listed and quoted organisations, through to family-run businesses, providing market-leading knowledge to achieve the best possible outcome for our clients .
Real Estate – Kennedys’ specialist real estate team work across the whole spectrum of real estate services, from commercial occupier matters in the retail, leisure, hospitality, manufacturing, telecoms, education, local government, corporate private and public sectors, through to supporting property development projects, finance, planning and investment. We provide leading advice on construction disputes and other real estate litigation
Commercial Litigation – Kennedys’ commercial litigation team aim to solve complex business disputes as swiftly and effectively as possible and provide solutions to our clients that align with their business objectives and environment. Our diverse range of clients includes corporate businesses, SMEs, government departments, insurers and reinsurers, and financial institutions.
Insolvency – Kennedys’ insolvency team manage complex insolvency litigation across both UK and international jurisdictions. Our services are wide-ranging, from helping to place a company into an insolvency event through to acting for the office holder on recovering funds from third parties, and include bringing claims against directors as well as representing those defending claims. We act for insolvency practitioners, government departments, banks, insurance companies, directors, shareholders, creditors and companies in financial distress.
