Burlington Credit Limited is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, which requires BCL to account for client money and be compliant with the SRA Accounts Rules 2011. As a Legal Cashier you will be supporting and assisting the SRA Operational Manager and the Finance Operations Manager with the reconciliations and controls of bank accounts and ledgers to ensure that SRA requirements are met in a timely manner. Our Birmingham office is light and open planned and the team are focused on building an ever-increasing environment that is welcoming, engaging and overall an enjoyable place to work. The role is a fixed term contract of 4 months, worked over 3 days per week and the team are flexible regarding which 3 days the successful candidate would like to work. What you’ll be doing: Uploading daily bank statements into an accounts system and SRA ledgers Reconciling SRA bank accounts and ledgers in a timely manner Ensuring ledgers and accounting records are maintained and comply with SRA Accounts Rules Preparing and actioning client and office bank transfers Investigation and resolution of reconciliation queries Preparing and submitting monthly reconciliations for sign off Supporting the annual SRA audit Handling accounts queries from fee earners and the transfer up team What you’ll need: Good communication, both written and verbal An ability to interpret and analyse data and produce reports A sound understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules 2011 A high level of numeracy, with a keen eye for detail IT literate, proficient with Windows systems and Microsoft Excel A good level of general education to GCSEs or GNVQ/NVQ qualification or equivalent Legal cashiering qualification (e.g. ILFM) desirable but not essential Minimum of 2 years' experience gained within a reputable legal firm desirable We ensure all employees receive ongoing support, training in their respective fields and a wide range of benefits.
