We are looking to recruit a Legal Assistant within our Family department in our Banbury office. Knowledge in dealing with Legal Aid applications with a strong understanding of Legal Aid protocols is desirable for this role.
About the Role
This is a non-fee earning role which provides a high level of administrative support and assistance to all Legal Services staff in the practice area by delivering support situated from within the team. The overall objective of the role is to ensure that delegated duties are completed and returned to the appropriate team member within the team in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.
Core tasks relating to the role include customer and matter inception (file opening) including associated file opening risk and compliance tasks, the championing of data integrity for the creation of contact, customer and matter records, file closing, document creation, filing and diary management, financial requisitions and time recording. Court preparation tasks such as bundle creation and copying, alongside working with fee earners who are working remotely for large proportions of the week.
The role will suit Legal Assistants/Legal Secretaries who can demonstrate very strong administration skills, who can work well under general direction against established priorities, processes and procedures. Exercise some autonomy about how work tasks are performed. You will easily understand the duties and tasks delegated to you, of which some tasks which may require some knowledge of the Practice Area. You must be self aware and a confident communicator, have knowledge and experience in using CRM systems. You must work well as part of a wider team, but may occasionally work independently if required. You must be able to deal with both customers and general members of the public by telephone or email in a clear and concise manner, whilst remaining professional and representing the Brethertons brand.
