Lecturer in Sociology - 0.5 Location: St Helens College & Knowsley Community College Salary: £11,427 - £15,345 per annum Closing Date: Monday 17 December 2018 Interview date: TBC We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and self-motivated individual to the role of Lecturer in Sociology. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding area of the curriculum, which boasts continued learner success and achievement. The successful candidate will be required to teach A Level Sociology to Years 12 and 13 and an ability to contribute to the pastoral care of students. The successful candidate will be required to undertake the below teaching hours: Monday 9.00 am to 2.45pm (two 1.5 hr classes across this period) Tuesday 9.00 am to 4.00 pm (one 1.5hr class at 9am and a 1hr class at 3pm) Wednesday 9.00 am to 10.30am Thursday 1.15 pm to 2.15pm Friday 9.00 am to 2.45pm (two 1.5hr classes across this period) There will be 6 hours’ departmental duty time to be timetabled around the teaching hours, at a mutual convenience. The successful candidate should: Have degree or (equivalent) in a Science subject Hold a relevant teaching qualification or be willing to achieve within set period from appointment Have experience of teaching Sociology Current knowledge and some industrial experience within relevant sector is desirable Teaching, training or experience of confidently delivering to an audience Be comfortable working within an FE environment We reserve the right to close this vacancy when we are in receipt of sufficient applications.
