As a Learning Support Assistant you will be a key member of our team, enhancing the education of our students. This is a great opportunity to build experience working amongst young people with social, emotional and mental health, ASC and/or a range of complex learning and communication difficulties.
This role is a term time role working 39 weeks per year.
The successful candidate will:
- Have excellent communication skills, along with patience and enthusiasm
- Hold a flexible attitude which is essential in order to respond to the changing needs of our students
- Demonstrate a high degree of emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- A clean driving licence with at least 3 years driving experience is essential.
A QCF level 3 Diploma or higher in relevant care or children and young people is desirable for this role. It is not anticipated that all new recruits to the role will have QCF Level 3 qualification but will commence the attainment process within six months of joining and will have a specific time period in which to qualify.

Talocher school part of the Priory Group is a specialist schools for up to 55 girls and boys aged 7 to 19 with social, emotional and mental health, ASC and/or a range of complex learning and communication difficulties.
The school provides a warm, welcoming and relaxed environment for young people who are unable to attend mainstream education because of their additional learning needs.
However, applications are also welcome from those with no experience but willing to train and learn. It is necessary that all of our staff are over 21 (to comply with the requirements of the National Minimum Standards).
For all roles we require a minimum of two references. References provided must cover the last 3 years, for all of our services we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults. Please be advised that references may be requested prior to interview for roles within our schools.
