Your new position
An exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant to join one of the world leaders in antibody production at our ISO9001 accredited Bio-Rad manufacturing facility in Oxford on a fixed term 12 month contract.
The Bio-Rad facility specialises in the manufacture of antibodies for the research community.
The antibodies are grown from hybridomas before being purified using various chromatography techniques, conjugated to various markers and quality tested in applications such as ELISA, flow cytometry, western blotting or immunohistochemistry.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking candidate with a “can-do” attitude with the aptitude to follow quality assurance protocols. Prior laboratory experience would be advantageous together with the use of pipettes and preparation of buffers.
- Aliquotting, labeling & assembly of products – including completion of appropriate documentation
- Manufacture of buffers and reagents to support production operation activities.
- General laboratory duties – including stock control & housekeeping
- Good background in aseptic techniques
- Understanding of the principles of Quality assurance and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
- IT competence essential – Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
- Organised and able to keep to agreed deadlines
- Previous experience in a laboratory environment, including use of pipettes and other basic lab equipment
- Experience in pipette handling and liquid dispensing
Minimum: A level in Mathematics, English and Science subject
This position is a FTC contract for 12 months
