Library and IT Assistant Newcastle - Rye Hill Campus £17,445 - £17,930 (for part time posts salary will be pro rata in accordance with FTE) 15.17 hours per week, 0.41 FTE, Part time Fixed Term 31/07/2019 Closing Date: Tuesday 12 February 2019, Ref No: NCLCD355401 As Library and IT Assistant you will be working as part of a team to support and assist students in the Newcastle College library and independent learning spaces throughout the campus. This will include a number of day to day tasks such as serving learners and staff at the main desk, helping students to locate resources, taking fine payments, and tidying and maintaining the stock on the shelves. In addition you will also provide IT support to students in the independent study areas, such as resetting passwords, helping with photocopying or printing enquiries, offering advice and guidance on using Microsoft Office programs and making sure that students abide by the Student Code of Conduct. The successful candidate would need to have: A minimum of a level 2 in literacy and numeracy (or equivalent). Experience of working within a busy customer service environment, preferable in an library or IT drop-in setting. Experience of using and demonstrating online resources and IT equipment. The ability to demonstrate a customer focused approach in order deal with any enquiries in a polite and patient manner. The ability use Microsoft Office and demonstrate their function to students.
