Scope and Remit An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced health and safety professional to further develop their career and implement the Group’s health and safety vision and strategy within the Livingston Business Unit and join the team as a Regional Health and Safety Manager. Forming part of the Livingston Management Team, the ideal candidate will be comfortable with leading health and safety at senior level and driving improvements in performance. Meticulous and organised, you will provide monthly reports indicating health and safety performance to the Business Unit Director and Group Compliance Director. An expert in your field, you will look for new and innovative ways of working in order to improve health and safety performance ensuring compliance with statutory legislation to ensure our existing health and safety management system certifications are maintained. The successful candidate will have proven experience within construction or related industry and hold a recognised health and safety qualification and membership of IOSH (minimum Grad IOSH). You will be accustomed to coaching, mentoring and supporting employees and have strong technical knowledge across health and safety legislation. We are looking for a candidate who can quickly adapt to changing priorities. You will be a good influencer who can build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. As part of the role, you will be keeping up to date with current legislation and changes to group policy and procedures and ensure this is effectively communicated to the wider business. As the post holder, you should ensure that all accidents and incidents are responded to within agreed timescales ensuring that internal and statutory notifications are in place which provide sufficient detail to protect our business interests and give an accurate account of the root cause of the accident/incident as well as details of corrective action. In addition to this, you will be responsible for promoting and encouraging excellent standards and continuous improvement of health and safety management within the business.
