HEAD OF WORLD CLASS PROGRAMME OPERATIONS (Covering Maternity leave from May 2019 until March 2020) UK Athletics Head Office, Alexander Stadium, Birmingham B42 2BE Salary-To be commensurate with experience and qualifications UK Athletics (UKA), the National governing body for the premier Olympic and Paralympic sport of athletics has a vacancy for a maternity cover for its Head of World Class Programme Operations. The successful candidate will oversee the overall delivery of all operational, financial and logistical elements of UK Sport funded World Class Programmes (WCP). The candidate will lead the Performance Operations department at UKA, manage and support the delivery of the Olympic and Paralympic WCP major championships, lead on WCP performance governance, and provide support for the operational delivery and management of the Tokyo and Paris performance strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations / logistics for a World Class Programme (or similar) at an Olympic or Paralympic sport, including project management of major championships or multi-sport Games. The ideal candidate would have previous experience of writing selection policies and managing a selection / appeals process for a World Class Programme (or similar). A candidate with a very good understanding and previous experience of the complexities of elite sport, in particular the sport of track and field athletics, would be at an advantage. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong skills in - leadership, programme and budget management, planning and organisation, communication and the ability to build strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders. This role will start in May 2019 until March 2020 covering for Maternity Leave. This role will involve regular travel to British Athletics National Performance Institute based at Loughborough University and may involve some international travel.
