Head of Talent Acquisition, UK/EMEA found on abcam

Reporting to the Global Talent Acquisition and Development Director, and based from our new global headquarters in Cambridge (UK), you will take responsibility for leading the UK and EMEA Talent Acquisition team.

This role therefore is critical in delivering the talent and people capability that Abcam needs for now and the future. The key focus is on transforming our recruitment capability and offering an outstanding recruitment service to internal customers through developing a best in class Talent Acquisition strategy and step changing our approach to candidate attraction, sourcing and selection.

You will inspire and lead the Talent Acquisition team to:

• Partner with Finance to accurately forecast future resource requirements and ensure that the Talent Acquisition team is appropriately resourced to deliver an outstanding service

• Attract high quality applications through effectively communicating our employee value proposition and employment brand through multiple online and offline communications channels

• Proactively identify and approach outstanding active and passive talent through in-house talent scouting and promotion of our employee referrals programme

• Provide external insight in to the talent market and create and maintain external talent pipelines

• Build positive relationships with both hiring managers and candidates by promoting our employer brand and offering outstanding candidate care throughout the selection process

• Transform Abcam’s selection capability through the use of best in class selection methodology and through creating a culture of recruitment excellence

• Contribute to providing Abcam with the people capability required to deliver our strategy through relentlessly improving quality of hire and driving improvements in cost, time to hire and candidate experience

• Improve the Talent Acquisition teams capability to deliver through developing a highly effective team development plan and through researching and introducing technology and business partnerships to enhance recruitment capability

• Accurately track KPI’s and analyse data to ensure a pipeline of continuous incremental improvement

Your background will demonstrate expertise as a HR leader either within Talent Acquisitionor as a HR generalist or specialist function. You will have demonstratable experience of leading and developing a high performing team along with a track record of successful transformation with clear qualitative and quantitative business outcomes. Experience of operating in a fast paced, commercial environment would be advantageous.

You will have excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels and will be experienced in stakeholder management with a strong focus on candidate and customer experience.  You will have experience in designing and delivering projects with high levels of commercial acumen.

You will be ambitious, driven and results focused and have the desire to grow your career in Talent Acquisition or in the broader HR function.
