At BAM FM customer service is at the heart of what we do. BAM FM is recruiting a Site Handy Person to support the team on Charter Walk Shopping Centre, based in Burnley. You will provide efficient and effective support to team, ensuring the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards. About the role You will focus on: • Ensuring site equipment and building fabric is efficiently and effectively looked after, reporting defects and malfunctions to the Centre Management and Lead Engineer • Cleaning light fittings and testing lighting systems, replacing where necessary, minor parts such as bulbs, tubes, fuses, starters and diffusers in accordance with safe working practices • Clearing blockages, removing foreign matter from sinks, toilets, drains, kitchen grease traps etc. and cleaning spillages as required • Cleaning equipment and cleaning all windows on site. • Painting and decorating duties • Undertaking walkabouts of the site and reporting Health and Safety issues such as trip hazards and vandalism. • Ensuring clear and safe pedestrian access, particularly in adverse weather conditions (e.g. clearing snow, gritting) • Dispose of waste materials in a safe, hygienic manner, ensuring that it is available for collection as required • Providing reactive response to car park equipment when maintenance is required • Undertaking porter duties as required including setting up and clearing away furniture • Monitoring stock levels of consumable items such as fuel, grit, toiletries, light bulbs/tubes, and arrange to replenish supplies in accordance with current procedures • Escorting, where necessary, Personnel visiting the site (e.g. contractors) • Complying with Health and Safety requirements as well as other relevant legislation and Shopping Centre Rules, carrying out weekly site compliance tests such as EM lighting, Fire Alarm Testing and assisting with evacuation procedures Who are we looking for? To succeed in this role you will have: • Have a Full driving license • Have a good understanding of M&E systems and facilities management • Be a Skilled person, ideally with carpentry or plumbing qualifications • Hold good people skills and the ability to deal directly with clients / customers What do we offer?
