ABOUT THE COMPANY
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graphic Designer to join Practical Publishing’s highly skilled design team based in their Stockport Office.
The business is a market leading international media group specialising in hobbyist markets serving publications, e-commerce, websites and products to its growing audience. This rapidly growing and innovative business is poised for further growth and as a result is seeking a dynamic person who is bursting with new ideas and enthusiasm and who thrives off working in a busy environment.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Graphic Designer, you will mainly be tasked with designing packaging for hobbyist consumer craft products. You will help to create beautiful commercial packaging for products that crafters will love.
As such, this role requires someone who is passionate as well as being deadline-driven and able to interpret briefs and the vision of others. In addition to producing innovative creative designs you will be adhering to brand guidelines as well as creating new brand identities.
With that in mind the ideal candidate must have the following skills and experience:
•A minimum of 3 years’ design experience ideally with a focus on packaging and branding
•Knowledge of effective commercial design
•Excellent Adobe skills, Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign
•A portfolio of work that demonstrates your design skills
•Some technical knowledge of print and production
•Working in a fast-paced environment to a variety of briefs
•Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing with team members, other departments and external contacts.
•Attention to detail and the ability to produce work to a consistently high standard
Craft industry knowledge would be an advantage but is not essential.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
20 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays, plus Christmas closure, free car park (Rota basis), cycle to work scheme, free refreshments, modern offices, company social events, and flexible work patterns and auto enrolment company pension.
Monday - Thursday 9.00am to 5.30pm AND Friday 9.00am - 4.00pm.
