This is an excellent opportunity for talented Software Developer with experience participating in a .NET
application development team, to join an established international company.
You will be involved in the development and delivery of projects including software design, development, unit
testing, software version builds, and software version control and configuration management
Your valuable contribution will ensure that the final solution can meet all requirements. Participating in
software development process improvement activities, you will contribute to all technical aspects of the
software development cycle including design, development and testing and the production of design
documentation. Your Design, Coding and Unit and Integration Testing must be to agreed project standards.
Responding to issues raised by system test and product support teams you will investigate and resolve defects.
You will be used to tight deadlines and project constraints and be capable of discussing complex concepts with
the various stakeholders using strong communication skills.
Location: Alderley Edge - some travel may be required.
Carrying out or contributing to all technical aspects of the software development cycle including
design, development and testing.
Design, Coding and Unit and Integration Testing to agreed project standards
Responding to issues raised by system test and product support teams using the project’s agreed
issue/defect management system
Investigation and resolution of defects.
Liaison with Product Experts, System Analysts, Software Architects, System Testers and Product
Contributing to the development of design patterns during project initiation to ensure that the final
solution can meet functional and non-functional requirements in the most cost effective way possible.
Providing estimates for the completion of tasks and deliverables and highlighting issues that may
contribute to variations to work schedules and plans as early as possible.
Participating in software development process improvement activities
External: Customers & Suppliers as required.
Internal: Technical Specialists including Software architects, Development Teams (on and off-shore), Product
Managers, Business Analysts, Data Migration Team, Testing Teams, Project Managers.
Knowledge and Experience
The successful candidate will have some knowledge and experience of:
Service Orientated Architecture and Web Development environment
Microsoft ASP .NET MVC
Web service development
Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 7, Windows 8.1)
SQL Server 2008/2012 Databases including database design.
Using Microsoft Development tools (Visual Studio 2010 and later, TFS)
Working with Microsoft technologies W2K8, W2K12 .Net framework 3.5 and later, COM/COM+ and
Design methodologies including, design patterns, use cases, object sequence diagrams and state
models using UML, Object Oriented Programming.
Working to tight deadlines and within project constraints
The successful candidate will also have strong communication skills, capable of exploring and articulating
complex concepts to the various stakeholders of the systems development.
The successful candidate should have exposure to one or more of the following:
Experience of C or C++
Automated Unit Testing e.g. MSTest or nUnit
Object Oriented Programming in a Service Orientated Architecture and Web Development
Component-Based Development, e.g. Select Perspective methodology;
UML Modelling tool use e.g. Select Component Factory or Rational Rose.
End-to-end development lifecycle and exposure to parallel development projects.
Microsoft Certification: MCAD or MCSD.
