Our client a £48m turnover business based in Leeds are searching for a Buyer to join their procurement team to support with the management of purchasing activity.
The role will support all areas of the operations including design and manufacture. The business prides itself on driving innovation and offering solutions to its customer base. As a Buyer you will proactively supporting NPI as well as working with existing suppliers to meet the demand of the customers.
The Expeditor will support the purchasing team for a spend of c£16m with a UK and European supply chain for commodities in; mechanical, electrical, electronic, fabrications and sub contract manufacturer.
Based in Leeds the Expeditor will be responsible for the purchasing of goods, working closely with production to deliver improved business performance, managing supplier relationships and ensuring the delivery of the right products at the right prices.

Reporting into the Purchasing Manager, you will work on managing a portfolio of spend categories, whilst taking ownership of business-critical Value For Money and cost projects.
*You will have responsibility for managing the bill of materials, lead time management achieving OTIF and contract requirements.
*You will also Identify alternative sources and working towards long term supplier agreements.
*Purchase in line with the MRP system demand and other authorized inputs, within the agreed financials constraints
*Manage a portfolio of spend categories, ensuring all parts are available to meet the production plan and customer needs
*Control the purchase order process from enquiry to invoice clearance
*Sourcing of new products and the issuing of RFQ's
*Conduct competitive bid exercises to test pricing and sourcing strategies
*Continual development of supply base
*Address and Resolve commercial / performance issues with suppliers
*Take a proactive lead in resolving supplier related issues
*Key supplier engagement and service level performance
Role Requirements:
*A use of ERP/MRP
*Negotiation skills
*Ideally operational purchasing experience gained within a manufacturing or engineering environment
*Contract / supplier management experience
Salary:
£22,000 - £23,000
