Engineering Key Account/ Sales Manager

Salary: Circa £50k+ Car/allowance & benefits
Hours of Work: 37.5 per week, flexibility regarding hours will be required successful candidate will be expected to be flexible due to nature of the role
About the Company:
Our client is a long-established provider of sub-contract machined and fabricated components to a wide range of industries but particularly for earth moving machinery supplying both home and export markets.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within one of the UK’s largest sub contract suppliers as a result of continued and sustained growth within the group.
This presents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, technically minded Salesperson to lead the commercial sales function for a long-established Engineering company.
It's a strategic role where you'll be able to directly influence the business strategy and performance. Working with a fascinating product portfolio and impressive engineering capability you'll be responsible for developing both new and existing customer accounts internationally to continue to build on the company's success.
As the Engineering Key Account/Sales Manager you'll need to have a good understanding of engineering/manufacturing (machine shop) and comfortable developing business across a wide range of industries.
•Achieve sales target as defined by the business on a monthly, quarterly and annualised basis
•Maintain an in depth understanding of customers and competitors
•Identifying and participating in agreed marketing strategies
•Identifying and reporting back on market trends
•Proactively identify new opportunities within existing customer base and win repeat business
•Communicating, liaising and negotiating internally and externally to facilitate the development of new profitable business and sustainable relationships
•Timely and accurate revenue forecasting
•Scope out, and act up, opportunities to promote other products and services
•Experience within a commercial role from a technical manufacturing/machine shop background – minimum 5 years experience
•Ideally HND in Mechanical Engineering or CNC Served Apprenticeship
•Strong commercial acumen and business development experience
•Proven experience of developing and executing business strategies
•Ability to work cross functionally and understand the impact of commercial decisions on all areas of the business
•Proven experience in developing and maintaining target customer accounts
•A flexible individual, able to cope with the demands of a long-established business operating in a number of diverse markets
•Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence and motivate the sales team
