Brief Team and Position Summary: The DNV GL office located in Calgary (Pipeline Services) through the Integrity and Compliance Solutions groups provide a broad spectrum of services to the pipeline industry, specializing in pipeline operations, risk management, and regulatory and code compliance. Expertise exists in pipeline integrity management, emergency management, environmental protection, safety management, damage prevention, and management systems. Tasks May Include: (Essential roles, responsibilities and activities a candidate may expect) Assisting in the development of engineering assessments through review and evaluation of safety and integrity management programs as well as conducting deterministic and probabilistic based engineering assessments of metal loss, crack-related and deformation related defects. Assisting in the development and/or assessment of Integrity Management program and plan documents to address all integrity or specific threats. Assessing and interpreting in-line inspection and corresponding field excavation data to assess the performance of the in-line inspection tools which involves undertaking detailed flaw analysis. Reviewing documents, analyzing management system and program processes for the purpose of developing recommendations for compliance assurance activities related to regulatory audits. Evaluating the effectiveness of clients’ safety, integrity, damage prevention and mitigation programs and processes. Developing documented processes in addition to providing clients with support and advice on pipeline regulatory and code compliance-related matters. Requirements: (Mandatory qualifications for this position) Post-secondary degree in Engineering or Applied Science, EIT or Professional Engineering designation Proficiency in MS Excel and Word and software systems in general. Good oral and technical written communication skills. Well organized Travel requirement (% of the year): at least 15% (mostly domestic) We conduct a pre-employment background check. Knowledge of North American pipeline regulations, codes and standards as well as previous experience in the development and implementation of pipeline integrity related programs, standards, practices, and procedures would be an asset.
