Whitgift Summer School, EFL Teacher Location: South Croydon Salary: £570 per week plus holiday pay and meals while on duty Expiry Date: Sunday 17 February 2019 Fixed Term Contract – 4 July to 18 August 2019 (6 weeks) Accommodation may be available if required Whitgift is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys, with approximately 1460 pupils including over one hundred boarding pupils and flexi boarding pupils. It is set in an attractive 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon enjoying excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast. During the summer holidays Whitgift runs its own Summer School for international students, utilising all its fantastic facilities and modern boarding house. The Whitgift Summer School, with its innovative and exciting English language course and activities, both involving native speaking students, is designed to appeal to girls and boys aged 11-17 from all over the world. We are seeking to appoint a team of inspirational EFL teachers to teach English as a Foreign Language and related subjects at our 2019 Summer School. Successful applicants will need to have a passion for teaching as well as an imaginative and creative approach, with a focus on student-centred learning. Applicants will be able to deliver engaging and inspiring lessons using up to date resources and involving native-speaking students, a real point of difference for Whitgift Summer School. Applicants are expected to contribute to the full life at a busy Summer School and have an integral role in assisting with the airport transfers Applicants must have a degree and be CELTA qualified (or equivalent qualification) with experience in teaching teenagers in this field. Teachers with a DELTA (or equivalent qualification) and experience at teaching in a summer school context are particularly welcome to apply. Candidates should have a high standard of professionalism, be able to work at a fast pace and cope efficiently with record keeping, other administrative duties and airport transfers as well as teaching. Native/near-native competence in spoken and written English is essential.
