Job SummaryWe are currently hiring for a Trainee Dispensing Assistant to join our Emersons Green NHS Treatment Centre. You will have the responsibility of dispensing medicines within the Pharmacy for 3 hospital sites. The role is primarily dispensary based but will involve dealing with outpatients and liaising and liaising with staff in clinical areas. You will be responsible for managing the pharmacy stock onsite and liaising with the stock providers and clinical staff to ensure adequate stock rotation.

Shift Pattern - Full Time, 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday

Responsible ToPharmacy Manager
Key Responsibilities•Label and dispense prescriptions and controlled drugs in accordance with local standard operating procedures.
•Maintain records relating to patient prescriptions as required.
•Order and receipt all stock as required reviewing price changes to ensure cost-effectiveness.
•Ensure medicines are stored appropriately.
•Conduct stock checks, when required, to ensure adequate stock levels on-site.
•Manage the allocation and distribution of stock medicines to other sites and TTO medication to the ward and PACU area
•Liase with clinical staff to ensure adequate stock rotation.
•Monitor re-order levels to ensure they are suitable for the fluctuation in requirements of clinical staff within ward and theatre areas.
•Liaise with other staff in the department in order to ensure that there is an efficient service provided to patients and staff.
•Ensure that pharmacy equipment is cleaned and correctly maintained.
•Prepare emergency boxes for clinical areas and ensure these are kept in date
•Liaise with pharmacists regarding medical alerts and clinical governance alerts.
•Work in a team with other members of the hospital, i.e. ward clerks, nursing staff, medical staff.
•Participate in audits and staff training as necessary.
•Ensure that statutory requirements (i.e. Medines Act, Misuse of Drugs Act etc.) and the General Pharmaceutical Council Code of Ethics are met and to implement CARE UK policies at all times.
•To undertake relevant training courses as appropriate
•Responsible for stock provision to all areas across 2 sites.
