ELFT has long been recognised as a centre of excellence for mental and health care, innovation and improvement. So it is a very exciting time for you to come and work for us. Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
Director of Social Work
Charter House/Alie St.
Band 9(pending job evaluation)
At ELFT, we want to be regarded as an excellent employer for social workers. This genuinely exciting new role will provide visible and credible professional leadership to social workers working for and with the Trust. The successful postholder will be responsible for strengthening the professional identity of social workers in the Trust and ensuring that the professional voice of social work is prominent, developing pathways into social work, and ensuring there are good opportunities for professional development.
The postholder will have a key role in building on our excellent relationships with our seven local authority partners, working closely with Directors of Adult and Childrens Services and their teams to promote integrated person-centred and strengths-based social care.
A key element of the role will also be to provide corporate leadership on a number of specific social care priorities across the Trust and to support the delivery of the Trust Strategy to improve quality of life for all, including promoting population health and wellbeing, improving quality and value of care, and improving service user and staff experience.
The Trust directly employs a large number of social workers, with many more social workers employed by local authority partners and working in integrated community teams, predominantly in our mental health services. The Trust is one of the 12 national pilot sites for the implementation of the new Community Mental Health Framework, for Adults and Older Adults, and the postholder will be instrumental to working across the Trust and partners to imagine and implement new ways of working for social workers in line with the vision of the framework.
If you are an experienced social work leader, and can demonstrate the values, passion, curiosity, agility and will that would make you a success in this new role, along with the ability to work in and across multiple complex systems, we would love to hear from you.
