We are working with a global company in Manchester who require a Development Chemist to work in research and development. This role will be centred on synthesis chemistry.
What you’ll do
This is a synthesis chemistry role. You will be undertaking chemical projects received by our client and working with team leaders and colleagues to ensure these projects run to plan.
The bench activities will be synthesis chemistry so milligram to gram scale synthesis, practical organic chemistry experiments as directed by Project Chemists. This will involve planning and running reactions and ensuring these occur within time and budget plans.
You will be maintaining accurate records and working closely with colleagues so constant communication will be key as well as good record keeping. You will be liaising with colleagues across the site and the company is a very open and friendly place, you’ll probably interact with analytical and QC regularly so good pacey communication will be key.
You will be. Graduate in Chemistry qualified to MChem or higher, PhD level perhaps and have a track record in chemistry. We are keen for the new Development Chemist to bring several projects experience behind them.
Should you be a PhD Graduate it is not essential that you have experience. Our client can use experience, but is also offering career progression, for example if you haven’t experience of scale-up they will teach scale-up. Please apply if experienced or inexperienced as this role can mould to the candidate to a certain degree.
We are keen for whomever joins to have a smooth transition from the academic lab into the industrial lab. A commercial awareness and determination to move ahead into industry, with an appreciation of the imperatives and values of industrial synthesis chemistry will be further important attributes regardless.
On this occasion, LiCa Scientific is acting as an employment agency.
