Desktop Support Engineer- £25,000 - £30,000 - Croydon

We are looking to bring on a Desktop Support Engineer (1st/2nd Line) based out of the Croydon office. You will be responsible for providing 2nd Line Desktop Support for the internal customers throughout the office as well as some remote support. You will be based largely from our Croydon office but probably 1 day a week from our Central London office so that you understand that side of the business too.
As the Desktop Support Engineer (1st/2nd line) you will be responsible for communicating with internal stakeholders, VIP’s and external 3rd parties about IT issues. You will complete user access to applications and other service requests, attempt to troubleshoot incidents/rectify issues when possible. You will be expected to escalate more complex issues to the appropriate specialists.
The main duties of the Desktop Support Engineer (1st/2nd line) will be:
•Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot for applications, printers, computer hardware, telephony and other peripheral equipment
•Understand the needs of the business to provide excellent customer services to all areas
•Being accountable as a site support engineer for a user base extending to 1800 users across multi-sites
•Working cross-site with other Desktop Support Engineers to provide prompt and efficient services
•Escalate issues as appropriate in accordance with published procedures
To be considered for the role of Desktop Support Engineer (1st/2nd line) you should have most of the following:
•Previous Desktop Support experience ideally within a Microsoft environment
•Exposure to Domain and Active Directory environments
•Good knowledge of Windows operating systems ideally Windows 10
•Good knowledge of supporting MS Office 2013
•Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
•Ability to research and discover new solutions
•Proven track record of delivering high-level support both telephone and face to face.
